I just moved. You have no idea the massive volume of crap which was housed in that little 950sqft tudor. The wife has WAYYYYY too much junque.
That was quick.

Getting in the way of the gun collection is it?I just moved. You have no idea the massive volume of crap which was housed in that little 950sqft tudor. The wife has WAYYYYY too much junque.
The wife sorta got an idea of how many handguns/long guns I have when we moved. I think it concerned her a bit.Getting in the way of the gun collection is it?
OMG 950 sq. ft.I just moved. You have no idea the massive volume of crap which was housed in that little 950sqft tudor. The wife has WAYYYYY too much junque.
Mine is taking a CCW class with me in a couple weeks. She is wanting a Ruger LCP.The wife sorta got an idea of how many handguns/long guns I have when we moved. I think it concerned her a bit.
People didn't need a lot of space 100 years ago. Big homes are a last 50 years sort of thing.OMG 950 sq. ft.
I think that was the size of my first apt. straight out of college.
You guys call that a house? That's a shack. Or a cottage maybe.
You just have more space between piles now.OMG 950 sq. ft.

But yeah, I'm always amazed at the fact that we have twice the square footage of the old place and nothing new has been acquired yet the space is filled up. How can that be?
I need to work on mine. I wonder if they'd let me sit in on her CCW class with her. When I took my CCW, 80% of the people in that room concerned me. I can't believe they hand out permits so fawking easily to yahoos who have no business carrying concealed (although anybody over the age of 21 can carry concealed here now, but with slightly less freedom than CCW holders).Mine is taking a CCW class with me in a couple weeks. True, although still...that's damn small.People didn't need a lot of space 100 years ago. Big homes are a last 50 years sort of thing.
Actually we don't have any piles...things are surprisingly well organized for only having moved about 8 months ago.You just have more space between piles now.
Same. We actually just left the stuff we didn't use (including our counter top microwave) for the tenant. We have been downsizing heavily and gotten rid of a tremendous amount of stuff. Next up is the kitchen. We are going to get rid of all the wedding gift items that are never used.
We rented a 10 yard dumpster the last time we moved just for this very purpose. We have been downsizing heavily and gotten rid of a tremendous amount of stuff. Next up is the kitchen. We are going to get rid of all the wedding gift items that are never used.
Yep. I'll try and get some pics of the finished product soon if I can.So did the attic ever get finished?
My grandparents lived in a 3,000+ SF house built in 1912 in Barre, VT. The stair and banister system in that house is a work of art. Lots of old houses in the north east built at the turn of the century and before are substantial. Lots of post and beam construction. My parents raised us in a circa 1800 post and beam constructed farm house that was at least 2500SF. It had massive timbers throughout w/ the original wide plank flooring. It was an awesome house.People didn't need a lot of space 100 years ago. Big homes are a last 50 years sort of thing.
Those were wealthy people's homes when they were built. Don't kid yourself, it wasn't the average factory worker's lodgins. My grandparents lived in a 3,000+ SF house built in 1912 in Barre, VT. The west wasn't nearly as civilized at that time and they built what they could - small, shitty houses.
