Thanks...

My biggest complaint now is how leaving the game, then coming back destroys a well functioning city. I had a city doing great, $20k in hourly income, plenty of water, sewage, and power.

I exited the game which saves the city and came back an hour later...

All of a sudden I need more water and sewage, not just 1 extra pump but double capacity for each. I have a maxed out police precinct well placed but crime goes up dramatically for no reason. Casino starts losing $5000 a day- the warning the education level has fallen to low so the nuclear power plant melts down.

The city that was $20k net positive in now $5k in the red within a few minutes of resuming. :naw:

Stuff like this happens almost every time I resume a city.

The game was built by liberals, what do you expect? Their great leader leaves and in 5 minutes everything goes to shit. :clapping:

Well the traffic fix is live. EA Forums

Unfortunately right after going back to the city for a second time I had a second melt-down at the nuke plant... now a quarter of the city is completely uninhabitable due to radiation. I bulldozed the nuclear plant which could no longer produce enough power anyway and set down some oil power plants directly in ground zero- they seem to work just fine despite the radiation.

Shame, this city had decent potential when I get to the other cities in the region- now it's forever ruined.

Also had an Earthquake and a Zombie attack (which I didn't see) - first time for those disasters for me.

Why did the nuke melt down? Not enough education?

Traffic still doesn't work well.... I turned on my University and it ground my city to a halt. Oil couldn't get delivered so my power plants went offline, then the trade port lost power and couldn't take oil deliveries. I lost $1m in a day. Took another half a day for the traffic to go away once I turned off the university again. Haven't seen the train that delivers oil come in a couple days now.

I still have three of my four oil shut down because I can't get any oil into my 30,000 barrel storage lot at the Trade Port. Tanker ships come and go and buy what little fuel I have, but no oil gets delivered. I don't understand how you're supposed to build up a city or specialization with such drastic fluctuations in how the game works.

I was able to run four oil refineries and an oil power plant for a long time, then all of the sudden, I can't get oil imported to run one plant and one refinery.

Do tankers come to the regular seaport? Or is there a separate port once you get an Oil HQ? The regular seaport says only ferry's and cruise ships.

Have to have a trade port to get tankers in. Seems to come once a "day", but only picks up... doesn't drop off.

My cash fluctuates wildly based on trade not happening on a smooth or regular basis. It's nothing to randomly lose $500k.

At least the game is playable, even if the mechanics remain completely broken, making it exceptionally frustrating to play.

A few weeks in now and honestly I haven't been more annoyed with this game than I am right now.

The cities are SO SMALL I just can't take it... If they knew they would have such a size limitation (likely because of their choice to simulate every single little thing as a packet of information) then they should have made required utilities smaller.

When I look at the entire city it annoys me how much room I have to take up with water production and sewage production, and even power plants. The city is supposedly 2 kilometers x 2 kilometers or in American a mere 1.5 square miles or just under 1,000 acres. There are farms larger than 1,000 acres. You shouldn't have to waste 100 acres of 1000 on water and sewage... You shouldn't need 2 or 3 (or more) nuclear towers to power a 1 .5 sq mile "city." A single nuke plant should power the ENTIRE REGION and be able to sell electricity to a global market. Even 1 coal or oil plant should easily power and entire region.

Worse, even if you set 1 region to be your "utility" region with water and power services, randomly the game tells me "so and so has stopped sending you water, it will run dry soon" - For no apparent reason.. Then I need to immediately plop down local water services... and show me a single water pump/well in ANY city that has ever run dry in 24 months? Limited water is BS. Yes some places are more expensive to get water than others but water should not be in limited supply- especially with rives. Oh and no nuclear power plant in the world draws its water from the municipal water supply - they should be drawing water from natural (river) sources.

Also the dumps (landfills) - they are totally out of scale for a small town of the size allowed in this game. There should be GLOBAL markets for all utilities just like there are in the real world- the reality is if you're willing to pay enough you can always get someone to take your garbage or send you power.

I'm not saying to get rid of water/sewage/power/etc... requirements but if you know you are size limited make them take up smaller and more realistic relative sizes. When you upgrade a water-dump it shouldn't take up the space of an entire 2nd pump, make it get a little bigger, or just bigger in height.

Another thing... Having to place buildings along a road is getting old fast. When I place a dump I don't know which way it's facing, I can't tell because it's not really clear- I plop it down and of course it's backwards for my needs. When I lay streets I wonder if I left enough room for the special building I want- and sometimes I don't - so I have to bulldoze and try again. We need to be able to plop buildings and have an outline of where add-ons can go, and then pave the road around it.

Pretty much same with utilities is same with police/fire/health... You don't need an entire police Prescient, possible an additional station, to patrol 988 acres. Even in NYC we don't have that type of saturation. Fire departments- maybe- it makes more sense to have smaller spaced out fire departments. But you shouldn't need as many as this game wants for adequate coverage. And Hospitals are the worst of all- A giant hospital in the "city" should be more than enough to cover the medical needs of everyone- you should only need 1 major hospital per region, but I get people complaining about health without at least 1 hospital and 1 maxed-out clinic.

The developers seem like they forget (or perhaps choose to ignore) they have greatly limited the size of our cities so they need to limit the size of utilities. Also the size of mining/drilling.

Rant done... for now.

Yep. Not impressed. Very frustrating to the point where I haven't even played it in about a week. The flaky region play and wild fluctuations in water/power/sewer are the reasons I got tired of it. I'd be doing fine, knocking down $200k/day, sitting on $2.4m then fluctuations would occur and I'd lose $800k before things evened out.

So apparently they sell in-game advertising- I now have access to a "Nissan Leaf Charging Station" which has no discernable purpose other than to mention the words Nissan and Leaf.
